Assorted reef life

Giant Triton (Charonia tritonis) at Ali Thila - the local predator on the Crown-of-Thorns starfish.  Go Triton!

Yellowtop or Yellowfin fusilier (Caesio xanthonotus) at Ali Thila.

Colourful, healthy hard and soft corals at Ali Thila.

I think this Giant clam is a Necklace giant clam (Tridacna derasa) at Ali Thila.

Healthy Smooth sea fans (Annella mollis) with black Noble feather stars (Comanthina nobilis) perched on them at Bulaloi Thila.

A couple of Banded boxer shrimps (Stenopus hispidus) shelter in a hole at Bulaloi Thila.

Elbowing my way through a school of Blue-lined snappers (Lutjanus kasmira) at Rehi Thila.

Giant Moray (Gymnothorax javanicus) gets a clean from a couple of cleanerfish at Bulaloi Thila.

A Lionfish (Pterois Volitans) at Bulaloi Thila.

And another couple of Lionfish stand on their heads under an overhang at Bulaloi Thila.

A cloud of Anthiases of some sort at Bulaloi Thila - there are over 30 similar-looking species.  Probably Sea Goldie (Pseudanthias squamipinnis), also known as Lyretail anthias or Orange butterfly perch.

Dive buddy Hans-Peter examines a Painted rock lobster (Panulirus versicolor) in Panettone Kandu.

A close-up of Hans-Peter's lobster.

A good photo of a Reef octopus (Octopus cyanea) peering out of its hidey-hole in Panettone Kandu.

A Sabre or Long-jawed squirrelfish (Sargocentron spiniferum) at Ali Thila.
