Now you can see part of the lower drop as well.  There was a near-gale force bitter wind blowing through this canyon from the Langjökull and Hofsjökull glaciers upstream.  It was hard to keep your feet as the wind battered you on the slippery, ice-covered viewing area.

The Strokkur geyser in Iceland erupts every 5 minutes or so.  We stopped by in the bitter, near gale-force wind to catch it.  As people fiddled with their cameras, they kept dropping their ski-gloves - you can see one gradually being blown towards the geyser, where no-one dares to go and retrieve it.
