Sandy passed through Thursday night/Friday morning.  Here, early Friday morning, the wind has gone right round to the west, and as we are on the edge of the eye, the sun has come out and the wind has dropped to mere gale force.

Saturday: after Sandy headed north to New York.  The damage to the pier is clearly visible now that the sea has calmed down a bit.
